Graphic Designer

We're on the lookout for a Graphic Designer to join our creative crew in Calgary! If you get excited about a well-placed illustration or perfectly balanced kerning, we want to hear from you. You'll collaborate closely with our Art Director to create standout concepts, brand identities, packaging, and more for our fantastic clients.

What you'll do

• Bring creative projects to life from concept to delivery
• Use typography, images, and treatment techniques effectively
• Keep projects on track with defined timelines
• Think outside the box with innovative ideas and artistic concepts
• Develop logos, illustrations, original graphics, websites, social media content, and other marketing materials
• Stay updated on current visual and cultural trends
• Simplify complex ideas into clear designs and narratives
• Refine concepts, images, typography, and layouts
• Present ideas to the Art Director and Creative Director, refine based on feedback, and help prepare client presentations

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a design role at an agency or in-house
  ‍

Must haves

• A willingness to learn and fill skill gaps
• Openness to feedback and critiques
• A positive attitude, and a love for dogs is a plus
• A polished portfolio showcasing bold branding, strong typography, and illustrations
• Strong collaboration skills and comfort with ambiguity
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
• A conceptual thinker who can take initiative and execute creatively
• Proficiency in current design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma)
• Strong skills in typography, layout, and prototyping
• High-level production expertise
• Experience in print design

• A degree in Arts/Fine Arts is a bonus
• Photography skills are a plus

Details

• Start with 20 - 30 hours per week on a subcontractor basis
• This is a Calgary-based position, but if you're in Vancouver please apply (we have a team member already based in Vancouver)
• We work in our downtown office but offer flexibility to work from home when needed
